The STEM Sisters Mentoring Program provides International female student mentees with the opportunity to increase their understanding of the industry sector, strengthen their skills to be successful within any of STEM industries and extend their professional network.
Customised matches of mentors and mentees will be based on areas of interest and career goals. With the opportunity to gain some valuable experience and insight into how to overcome challenges and barriers that might be affecting young mentees. Mentors have the opportunity to give back to the industry, share their experience and support fantastic young engineers early in their careers.
Selected members will be invited to join the program in which mentees are encouraged to engage with and then drive the relationship forward. The program will start in October 2019 and conclude in March 2020 with 3 key sessions:
1) Introduction to the STEM Sisters Mentoring Programme
2) Mentoring Workshop
3) Mentoring Conclusion
The key mandatory sessions are intended to promote demonstration of leadership, the collaboration between participants, and recognition of achievement.
We welcome migrated women and industry mentors from a breadth of sectors who have the STEM experience to share.
International Female Students must be enrolled in a postgraduate or Graduate Research degree program in STEM-related discipline in an Australian University.
STEM Sisters acknowledges, recognises and respects the Ancestors, Elders and families of the Boonwurrung, Waddawurrung and Wurundjeri of the Kulin who are the traditional owners of land in Victoria.
